WHAT IS COUNSELLING?

Most people, at some time in their lives, get anxious, down, or need help when life isn't going the way they want it to. Many find that counselling can help them through and develop them into the people they want to be.  As a professional and fully qualified counsellor, I am experienced in helping people make sense of what's troubling them, find different ways of looking at it, make changes in life and start to heal the pain.

People come to counselling for a whole host of different reasons. For some, it's because something in life isn't going right and they want to understand what's wrong and try to make changes. For others, a relationship problem or personal crisis may be the reason they come into counselling. And some people come into counselling to develop themselves and grow as a person. Sometimes we need more than talking with a friend.

Whatever your reason for considering counselling, I offer a caring, compassionate and confidential space to talk about what is troubling you. I am non-judgemental and respectful and I believe no issue or problem is too small or trivial for counselling. It may be that you cannot quite put into words what's troubling you. If that's the case, counselling can offer you creative ways to articulate what's troubling you without always relying on just words.
